Periodically Wealth Centers of America identifies key community projects, which we want to help support. During the summer of 2022, our President Scott Weilage facilitated and lead a discussion with the Deputy Director of the Minnesota State Parks Department from St. Paul, MN. This quickly involved the meeting of a mix of approximately 15 government and private sector stakeholder who met physically at Seppman Mill in Minneopa State Park, Mankato MN. The Park employees actually opened up the Mill for them to examine the rapidly deteriorating mill. The prize tag to restore the mill will likely be in the 7 figures including the re-attachment of stationary wind blades. With the help of Blue Earth County Historical society a grant process is already underway to further fund the initially feasibility study, which is the first step with a full restoration project.
Scott Weilage states “I recall visiting the Mill while in Kindergarten nearly 50 years ago. Landmarks like this that date back to the 1800s need to be preserved especially for children so more have the opportunity to visit and learn about local history. This remains a regional landmark for young and old to enjoy” A formal Press Release is planned for May, 2023 inviting the public to get more involved.
